A convenient and fun way for young space enthusiasts to kickstart their space careers. Fine tune your knowledge of space exploration in private classes tailored to your individual interests and needs. Recommended for students interested in expanding their knowledge of space programs, developing their own space projects and one day doing an internship with NASA. In this exciting 4 session course students are introduced to key space missions, careers and NASA mentors which will inspire them on their paths to one day working in the aerospace industry. We travel through the solar system and beyond and learn about the real people who do amazing space jobs every day ( engineers, scientists, astronauts etc). We discuss past, current and future space missions including Artemis, Mars Rovers, Voyager, James Webb, exoplanets, CubeSats, upcoming missions to Europa and Titan. Students are given tips on how to go about applying for NASA internships and will be provided opportunities to connect directly with NASA specialists/mentors. My teaching style is fun and informal and I explain complex ideas in an enjoyable way so my students have fun as they interactively explore their interest in space exploration. I am fortunate to have many contacts who work on space missions at NASA centers, universities and other space agencies. Mission to Mars / Titan Book Writing Course: Request Times
Mission to Mars / Titan Book Writing Course: Request Times
Bruce Callow
This fun and challenging creative writing course invites young space pioneers / authors to assemble an international team of astronauts and write the story of the first human landing on Mars or Titan. Steady technological progress by NASA, SpaceX and others is giving the international space community growing confidence about a human landing on Mars in the not so distant future. Titan is an attractive objective after Mars. Using a 10 chapter guide, students use their technical, artistic and imaginative skills to create the story of the first crewed mission to Mars or Titan, and in the process become authors of an exciting new e-book! Enrollment is limited to one or two authors per session. The book is developed over eight weekly classes with some work being done by the authors on their own. Authors provide illustrations and graphics to accompany the chapters as well as designing the book cover. Being a published author is an important confidence builder and can be an important detail to include in a resume. Some families have the books printed to use as special family gifts or to display on the coffee table. Class schedules are set up at the convenience of parents. A Beginner's Guide to Aeronautics
A Beginner's Guide to Aeronautics
Quantum Physics for Kids
In this 12-session course meeting once a week, we'll dive into learning about aeronautics, motion physics, airplane design, rocketry and aerodynamics! Have you ever wondered how airplanes fly? Airplanes, gliders and helicopters all stay midair due to the principles of the flight science called aeronautics. These include the physics concepts of Newton's laws of motion, aerodynamics, the motion of air, and Bernoulli's principle of lift. During the course, a variety of activities will bring aeronautical concepts to life, including interactive computer physics simulations, educational presentations, discussions and visualizations. Printable Homework Review Handouts will be provided after each class to summarize and reinforce learning. Teacher Expertise: This course is taught by Quantum Physics for Kids instructor Prof. Mark Baraket (M.S. Astrophysics UC Berkeley), an experienced aeronautics educator. Parent Review: "An excellent introduction to Aeronautics. The teacher is very professional and knowledgeable . Always welcoming questions.
