Get ready for an inspiring journey into the world of game development, design, and business. Join us for this free, one-hour live online event where students will have the unique opportunity to learn from Tom Impallomeni, a gaming industry expert from popular VR DJ platform Tribe. In addition to founding Tribe XR, Tom has also worked with Disney and many other top brands to create games for them. SuperAwesome, another company Tom co-founded, was acquired by Epic Games. What a journey!
With a passion for making games engaging, educational, and impactful, Tom will dive into the fascinating world of game optimization and design, drawing from his own experiences and creative process.
In this interactive session, Tom will:
Share insights into his personal journey and the work his team does to bring beloved gaming experiences to life.
Take a deeper dive into games he has developed, explaining how these games were thoughtfully designed to engage players through compelling game mechanics and artistic choices.
Discuss how game companies analyze and optimize games to enhance enjoyment and learning, offering students a behind-the-scenes look at what makes games successful.
Highlight different strategies for building games, including how developers experiment with and refine ideas, focusing on those with the potential to captivate and educate players.
Lead brainstorming activities with students, exploring NSF Game Maker Awards focus areas to help students come up with creative game ideas under a theme.
This event will inspire your child's creativity and broaden their understanding of game design. Whether they're interested in coding, music, art, or simply love gaming, this session will show them how games are thoughtfully crafted to bring joy and education together. Don’t miss this chance for your child to gain insights from an industry expert, and get inspired to participate in the upcoming NSF Game Maker Awards where their creativity could shine on a national level!
