Jorge Ortiz Flores

Software Engineer | Gamer | Minecraft Mod Enthusiast

Since childhood, I’ve always loved to create products and creative media, whether it be the video-game inspired board games or digital animations on my Nintendo DS. These passions have evolved into my diverse skill set which includes computer science, video game development, UX design, and teaching.

As an experienced STEM instructor and Minecraft extraordinaire, I’ve led students to engineer meticulous redstone contraptions, imaginative Minecraft mods, and large-scale amusement parks through the power of curiosity and iterative improvements.

Throughout my experience, I’ve recognized my students for becoming mentors themselves, helping those in need during team projects, and advocating for the sense of belonging; I’ve been recognized for this value by past organizations as well. Everyday, these moments motivate me in aiding our future technologists to adopt growth mindsets and channeling their inner-imagination in any work they do.

Today, I’m applying my expertise in UX Design within various start-up companies, and teaching and mentoring students through online STEM courses and curriculum development on the side.
